My tenant has some criminal history, which led me to believe that he would be a dangerous renter after I ran a background check on him. After I denied his application, he told me that the company was misreporting facts and that the convictions listed there were not his. In order to get the report fixed, he declared he would dispute it with the RealPage screening firm. I'm at a crossroads right now when it comes to what to do and whether or not to trust him. I still rely on that information from the report because, I have never encountered inaccurate reports. I came upon this article https://consumerattorneys.com/article/realpage-tenant-screening-report-errors and it made me think that maybe I should give a chance to my tenant to prove that he’s right. Tell me what to do in my case, please.
